These Giant European Trapdoor Shells have been harvested from a local clay pond.  The snails have died from natural causes (we do not agree with killing snails for their shells!)

They make ideal nesting and shelter sites for many of the shell dwelling African Lake Cichlids. 

Shrimps also like to make up home in these as they feel secure inside.

The shells are approximately 1.5-2.0 inches in length.
