Methods of payment

• We prefer Paypal as a payment method. 
• You do not have to be registered with them to make a payment, you just need a credit or debit card. 
• We do not hold card details at Snail Shop - all credit information is processed at Paypal where information is encrypted via an extremely secure server.

We also accept personal cheques and postal orders. To pay using one of these methods, please check availability of the items you wish to order using the shopping cart.  Once you have completed your order you can either print or copy your cart.  Please send your order details, your shipping address and payment to:

Delivery charges

• Delivery is set at £5.99 per order - Special Delivery for livestock orders (UK snails & dry goods only)
• Orders which contain shrimp, crabs or crayfish are charged at £9.99 per order due to extra packaging, postage and handling requirements.
• Snail and dry good orders to the rest of Europe are charged at £9.99.  (Sorry but we cannot ship shrimp, crayfish or crabs to any other European country due to the fragility of these animals.)
• Free shipping when you spend £50.00 or more on goods (UK residents only)

ORDER TERMINOLOGY - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

"New Order": Your order has been recieved and has been marked for our attention.

"In Progress": The payment for your order has been acknowledged by staff and your order is in processing.

"Shipped": Your order has been dispatched.

• Livestock orders are posted to arrive on a weekday only and need to be signed for. 
• If you are at work during the week please provide us with an alternative postage address when ordering online.
• Please keep in mind that orders can be sent to your work address or a friend, relative or neighbour. 
• Livestock parcels will be fine unopened for the day until you are able to take it home. 
• Dry goods will be dispatched as soon as the order is ready and payment has been received. 
• Orders placed on a weekday before 12 noon are often dispatched within 24 hours.  However, please allow a maximum of 5 working days for your order to be dispatched.
• All customers are emailed upon dispatch of their order.  Orders usually arrive the following day.  On the rare occasion when an order does not arrive the next day please do not panic! Our packaging methods are of an extremely high quality and livestock will be fine for a couple of days in transit.  If you were out when your order arrived, a postage card will be left for you with further delivery/collection instructions about your parcel.

Sorry but we cannot ship shrimp, crayfish or crabs to any other European country due to the fragility of these animals.

Shipping destinations

Snail Shop will send orders throughout the UK.  We will also ship to most European Countries.  Postage to Europe is set at £9.99 via International Signed For.

Live arrival guarantee

• All livestock orders are covered by Snail Shop’s live arrival guarantee. 
• We will refund or replace livestock which arrives dead* on arrival. 
• Claims for dead on arrival must be made the same day upon which your order arrives.  Photographic evidence may be required. 
• Snail Shop reserves the right to obtain dead specimens for post mortem examination.
• *Please note! Snails may often stay in their shells for several days after arrival as they acclimatise to new water conditions.  A dead snail will be physically hanging out of its shell and has a disgusting ‘aroma’!
• The live arrival guarantee is void should the customer fail to be present to receive and sign for the goods.  Postage charges will not be refunded under any circumstances.
